My approach begins with observation: how someone settles, where a child’s attention goes, how two people naturally stand together, and when expression becomes real.
Direction still matters. Good light, clean composition, purposeful posture, and a clear plan help everyone look their best. But direction should create confidence, not flatten personality.
I call that balance directed and documented: build a reliable frame, create enough movement for people to stop performing, then pay attention to what unfolds.

Before the session, I help narrow the visual direction and practical decisions. During it, you receive enough guidance to feel supported and enough freedom to stop thinking about the camera.
If children need a pause, weather shifts, a pet changes the plan, or a better moment appears somewhere unexpected, I adapt. That flexibility is part of the work—not a break from it.
